HBO Casts Julian Kostov In ‘The White Lotus’ Season Three

According to Deadline, HBO’s The White Lotus has cast Julian Kostov (A Discovery of WitchesShadow and Bone) for the third season. Kostov is set to portray recurring Russian character who Miloš Biković (SerfThe Challenge) was originally cast for the part. Biković exited the project on Friday following conflicts of his take of the Russo-Ukrainian War.

According to Deadline, production for the third season is set to begin soon around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok. Alike the past seasons, the new season is about a new group of people attending a White Lotus property in Thailand.

Additional actors who were recently cast: Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase, Gen V), Sam Nivola (White Noise, Maestro), Aimee Lou Wood (Living, Sex Education), Sarah Catherine Hook (Impeachment: American Crime Story, First Kill), Walton Goggins (The Shield, Justified), Dom Hetrakul (Duangjai Taewaprom, Blackbeard) and Leslie Bibb (Jupiter’s Legacy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby).

The White Lotus is written and directed by series creator Mike White (Chuck & BuckSchool of Rock). The series is executive produced by David Bernad (Uncharted, Zombieland: Double Tap), Mark Kamine (Confess, Fletch, American Hustle) and White. HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand for the filming and promotion of the new season.

Kostov has recently appeared in Macon Blair’s (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Green Room) American superhero comedy horror film The Toxic Avenger alongside Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Elf), Jacob Tremblay (Room, Good Boys), Taylour Paige (Zola, White Boy Rick), Julia Davis (Love Actually, Phantom Thread), Jonny Coyne (Once Upon Time, 11.22.63), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and Kevin Bacon (National Lampoon’s Animal House, A Few Good Men).

The White Lotus has totaled 43 Emmy nominations with 15 wins, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
