According to Comicbook, with Anne Rice’s (Queen of the Damned) Mayfair Witches returning for its second season on AMC many fans have questions of what is up next for the story of Rowan. With the new season comes changes to the members of the Mayfair family especially Cortland played by Harry Hamlin (Clash of the Titans, The Hot Zone). When speaking with ComicBook Hamlin gives some insight as to what is to come from the new season of the series. He explains how Cortland wants to be a better man after the first season’s events but it seems like there is no redeeming the character.
“I think he’s trying to get redemption,” Hamlin said. “He wants to be contrite. He wants to somehow be a better man in Season 2 because of how he had to go into himself and take a good look at himself, given how he was dressed down by his father. So, yeah, he wants to be redeemed, but it’s not going to happen. I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
Mayfair Witches based on Rice’s novel follows neurosurgeon Rowan Fielding who discovers she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. The second season of the series will continue to follow the story of Rowan and the rest of the family and they try to achieve rapid growth and power.
Cast members for the series include Alexandria Daddario (The White Lotus) as Rowan Fielding, Tongayi Chirisa (American Horror Story) as Ciprien Grieve, Jack Huston (Kill Your Darlings) as Lasher, Beth Grant (Donnie Darko) as Carlotta Mayfair, Annabeth Gish (Mystic Pizza) as Deirdre Mayfair, and Hannah Alline (Doom Patrol) as Suzanne. The second season will also feature an appearance by Gabriel Freilich (Jeepers Creepers: Reborn) as Felix, a fledgling vampire from Season the second season of Interview With the Vampire.
