According to Deadline, the official premiere date for season two of Halo has been released. The season will premiere on Thursday, February 8th in 2024. The news was unvieled at the at a panel at CCXP in São Paolo, Brazil yesterday, December 2nd.
The show is based off of the XBox video game franchise, says Deadline. The source also cited the synopsisy for the upcoming season, saying that “In season two, Master Chief John-117 leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. In the wake of a shocking event on a desolate planet, John cannot shake the feeling that his war is about to change and risks everything to prove what no one else will believe – that the Covenant are preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction — the Halo.”
Deadline also stated that the show stars returning cast members such as Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) as Master Chief, Spartan-117, Natascha McElhone (Californication) as Dr. Halsey, Jen Taylor (Halo game series, RWBY) as Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), Shabana Azmi (Fire), Natasha Culzac (The Witcher), Olive Gray (Half Moon Investigations), Yerin Ha (Reef Break), Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Kate Kennedy (Catastrophe), Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Danny Sapani (Penny Dreadful).
New cast members, says Deadline, includes Joseph Morgan (Vampire Diaries) and Cristina Rodlo (No One Gets Out of Here Alive).
Deadline says that David Wiener serves as showrunner while Kiki Wolfkill serves as an executive producer. Both of which were at the season two announcement at CCXP. Other executive producers include David Wiener, Steven Spielberg, as well as Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television. Wolfkill serves as executive producer for Xbox/343 Industries, along with Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture and Gian Paolo Varani.
