According to Deadline, the second season of The Way Home has become the most-watched show on cable television. Specifically, it is the most-watched program on cable TV for women who are 18+. The news came from L+3 results from Nielsen.
The second season of The Way Home reached a whopping 5.7 million unduplicated total viewers. The second season finale, which was aired on March 31st, became the most-watched episode of the season among viewers and women/persons 18+. Deadline says that the show was confirmed to have a season three back in March.
Hallmark said that “The Way Home tells the story of three generations of women – Kat Landry, her teen Alice, and Kat’s mother Del – who are all strong, willful and independent. More than 20 years prior, life-changing events prompted Kat to move away from her small, Canadian farm town and she remains estranged from Del to this day. At a crossroads in her life, Kat moves back with Alice to her family’s farm though the reunion isn’t what Kat envisioned. When Alice and Kat unwittingly discover the ability to travel between the past and present, mother and daughter are determined to unearth the truth around the earlier tragedies as they try to change the course of events. Kat’s childhood friend Elliot is there for them in both eras as they navigate their journeys across time, helping the three women find their way back to each other.”
Deadline also detailed the cast of the second season, with names such as Andie MacDowell (Maid), Chyler Leigh (Supergirl), Evan Williams (Escape Room) and Sadie Laflamme-Snow (Cascade). The series is a Neshama Entertainment production in association with MarVista Entertainment. Executive producers include Reed Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer (The Kiss List), Larry Grimaldi (House Of Chains), Ani Kevork (Unforgotten), Arnie Zipursky (Undercover Grandpa), Suzanne L. Berger (Another Life), MacDowell and Leigh. The series is also shot in Canada.
