Glee’s Final Season Might Be Shortened

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the final season of Fox’s hit dramedy Glee might be cut short.

The show was left off of Fox’s schedule for 2015, which was released early Monday.

When asked if the show’s final season might be cut from 22 to 13 episodes based on this information, Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly said “The order currently is for 22, but we’re actually going to sit down with Ryan and really talk about how we’re going to end it and figure that out, the advantage of having it on later in the season is that we don’t have to feel the pressure of delivering. We can do them in a row. We’re going to sit down and talk about exactly the best way to end the show and how many [episodes] that is.”

The reduction of episodes follows death of show’s star Cory Monteith, which caused obvious production delays. On top of these difficulties, Glee’s ratings have been way down, and are a far cry from their high ratings in earlier seasons.
