‘Girl Meets World’ Creator Outlines What Season 4 Would Have Been

Girl Meets World was the 2010’s next chapter for the late ’90s classic Boy Meets World. The series followed the story of Riley Matthews, daughter of fan favorites Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence. Girl Meets World formerly made its home on the Disney Channel, a network which also hosted the original series during its prime.

Unfortunately, the reboot was cut short. It was recently announced that Girl Meets World was unsuccessful at finding a different home for the show after Disney chose not to move forward with the project. With the chance of Girl Meets World returning basically at 0.9%, Deadline reports that one of the the creators, Michael Jacobs, took to Twitter to show what his real plans for the fourth season were (although the Tweets were published via the show’s account).

The full account of the tweets can be read here:

“Grateful to all who have written in support of the show. You are who we did it for. And now to keep a promise: Season 4 would’ve shown that what drew Farkle, Lucas and Zay to Riley and Maya was the deep friendship and respect they had for each other. And their relationship was the guide in how to meet the world. Especially our current world. Because to find love, friendship and respect must be at the center of it. Cory and Topanga always knew that. So, as you all meet this world, we wish you friendship, respect and love. All of us at BMW and GMW have loved bringing you these stories. We hope we have taught you to dream, try and do good. Class dismissed.”

That last line was particularly tear-jerking to the original Boy Meets World fans. But at least the cast and crew can be comforted by the fact that when the show was on the air, they received support from the Disney Channel audience, reviewers, as well as Emmy nominations.
