HBO’s The Epic Fan Experience will allow people to see the Iron Throne as well as costume and prop displays.
Game of Thrones returns to screen on April 6th, but season four will be coming more than two weeks early for 7,000 fans. According to RollingStone, HBO announced that they will host The Epic Fan Experience at Brooklyn Barclays Center’s Cushman & Wakefield Theater, New York, on March 20, on a stadium-sized screen that will also include costume and prop displays, photo ops on the Iron Throne and also many other surprises.
“Game of Thrones has become a truly global sensation thanks to the show’s incredibly dedicated and loyal fans,” said Zach Enterlin, SVP of Advertising and Promotion at HBO. “To create an event that matches the excitement of the viewers and the epic scale of this series, we knew we had to do something really special. A fan screening of this size, at a venue like Barclays Center, feels like the perfect way to celebrate the new season of Game of Thrones.”
The tickets will be sold online at Ticketmaster on Thursday, March 6 for $15 and all net proceeds will be donated to charities Nothing but Nets and Books for Africa, as noted on HBOwatch. The announcement comes with the warning that no electronic devices will be allowed inside the theater.
The fourth season of the series will combine elements from the second half of the third book from George R.R. Martin, A Storm of Swords, with the fourth book, titled A Feast for Crows. Last month, the network released a 15-minute trailer for the upcoming season. The first half of the third book formed the third season of the show, which ended with the murder of three main characters in the shocking Red Wedding.
David Benioff, the executive producer, writer and director of the HBO series, said about season 4 that, “Some of the most shocking and mind-blowing scenes of the entire series come at the end of this season. There are some very bloody confrontations.”
Game of Thrones season four premiere will air Sunday, April 6, on HBO.
