Maisie Williams, best known for her role as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, has been cast in an upcoming comedy series on Sky. The show’s working title is Two Weeks to Live. The show is described as “a comic tale of love and revenge born from a seemingly harmless prank that goes terribly wrong.” Williams will play the lead, Kim Noakes. Kim is a misfit who was raised under strange circumstances after the loss of her father. Kim’s mother isolated her and taught her survival techniques.
The show revolves around a grown-up Kim who is sent into the real world on a mission to honor her father’s memory. Sky describes Two Weeks to Live with a few more details, “when Kim walks into [Nicky] and [Nicky’s brother] Dave’s local pub, it sets in motion a chaotic series of events that puts all their lives in danger. Who would have thought a few drinks and an ill-judged prank could go so violently wrong?” The trio, Kim, Nicky, and Dave, find themselves on the run from gangsters and law enforcement with a bag of stolen money due to the previously mentioned and mysterious events. Kim’s aforementioned survival techniques will now be put to the test with life or death stakes.
Jon Mountague, the Director of Comedy at Sky, said, “With Maisie Williams leading from the front, Two Weeks To Live is to die for. Bold, British and very, very original, we can’t wait to wow audiences with even more great comedy”. Williams also made statement, “Looking forward to getting into something new, I think Two Weeks to Live has really great potential and I want to make something incredible with this wonderful team!”
Two Weeks to Live will be executive produced by Phil Temple (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man). The six part series is written by Gaby Hull (The Dark Mile). The series was commissioned by Mountague and Zai Bennett. Bennett is the Managing Director of Content at Sky.
Two Weeks to Live is set to film later this year and will air on Sky One and Now TV (streaming service) next year in the United Kingdom and Ireland, distributed by Endemol Shine International.
