According to TVLine, HBO has officially announced the latest spinoff of Game of Thrones, along with its premiere window. The network announced new series titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which will premiere on HBO in January.
As per TVLine, the network has yet to announce the official date for the premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms but has revealed new key art featuring Ser Duncan the Tall played by Peter Claffey (Bad Sisters, Small Things Like These) and his bald, young squire, Egg, played by Dexter Sol Ansell (The Midwich Cuckoos, The Hunger Games: Songbirds & Snakes).
Below is the key visual posted by The Game of Thrones social media with a tag line that read: “A tall tale that became legend.”
According to TVLine, the logline of the new spinoff reads as follows: , A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is “set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory,” and “great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
As per TVLine, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be the second spinoff in the Game of Thrones franchise, following the 2022 House of the Dragon. The series was originally announced in April 2023 and was written and executive-produced by George R.R. Martin (A Dance with Dragons, A Dream of Spring) and Ira Parker (The Last Ship, Four in the Morning), with House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal (Hidden Valley Place, The Sixth Gun), Owen Harris (Kill Your Friends, Holy Flying Circus), Sarah Bradshaw (The Mummy, The Huntsman: Winter’s War) and Vince Gerardis (Dark Winds, Dark Winds) also serving as EPs. Harris will direct three episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ inaugural season.
