‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Kristian Nairn Releases Debut Single

Game Of Thrones‘ Hodor has been hard at work creating music.

The actor/DJ, who gained fame playing Hodor in Game Of Thrones, has released his first original single. The debut single “Up / Beacon (feat. Leanne Robinson),” is an electronic release from Radikal Records. Nairn is no newcomer to the electronic music scene though.

For the past 11 years, Nairn has had residency as a DJ and music producer in one of Ireland’s famous music venues the Kremlin. His remixes have been played by popular house music artists like the Freemasons and Grant Nelson. Nairn was absent from the last season of Game Of Thrones and was spending his time working on music. Nairn was on an international tour fittingly titled “Rave Of Thrones,” making his way through Europe, Canada, and the United States, according to the press release.

The lead single “Up” is an upbeat song that matches the vocals of Leanna Robinson with pleasing synths and a piano melody. The single includes the club mix, dub mix, and radio edit of “Up.” The B-side track, “Beacon” has heavier synths and doesn’t feature vocals from Leanna Robinson. You can listen to “Up” below.

“It’s been a long time coming, and I think ‘Up’ and the material yet to come is a really good reflection of how I feel about house music,” Nairn said in a statement. “We have been very lucky to find Leanne, and its been great working with her. I’ve never been more excited to share ‘Up’ and what else I’ve been doing in the studio with the world over the next months.”

“Up / Beacon (feat. Leanne Robinson)” is currently available for digital purchase and streaming worldwide.

Nairn is also heading to New York in August to perform. The “Rave Of Thrones,” event will be held in the Irving Plaza on August 13. The event will appeal to Game Of Thrones fans and house music fans alike with guests asked to dress in fantasy-themed clothing. Tickets for the event can be purchased here

While Nairn’s music doesn’t exactly fit the tone of Game Of Thrones, his nod to fans of the show through the title of his tour is sure to draw in listeners who know him from his acting work alone.
