According to Deadline, The CW has renewed its board game-inspired series Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit for second seasons, each with a 30-episode order. Both shows, produced by Hasbro Entertainment in partnership with Lionsgate Alternative Television, are set to return in 2026.

Deadline reports Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson (The Late Late Show, How to Train Your Dragon) will step in as the new host of Scrabble, taking over from Raven-Symoné (The Cosby Show, Raven’s Home). LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow, Star Trek: The Next Generation) will continue as host of Trivial Pursuit.

“I’m cock-a-hoop to be hosting Scrabble. I’ve wanted to do this show ever since I found out the letters of my name can be used to spell Cougar Fingers,” Ferguson said in a statement to Deadline.

Deadline also said both game shows are produced by Hasbro Entertainment, with Scrabble co-produced by Mattel Television Studios and Trivial Pursuit produced in collaboration with Talpa Studios. The games are adapted for television with high-energy formats designed to engage viewers and fans of the original board games.

Each Scrabble episode features contestants competing in word-based challenges, building toward a giant central game board to earn points and secure a win, according to Deadline. The second season will be executive-produced by Raven-Symoné. Meanwhile, Trivial Pursuit brings a familiar trivia challenge to life on a massive board, where players race through classic categories to earn wedges. The final round pits the victor against the clock in a high-stakes quest for a jackpot. The production team behind Trivial Pursuit includes executive producers David Hurwitz (BrainSurge, Person, Place or Thing), Gabriel Marano (Trivial Pursuit), David Garfinkle (Naked and Afraid, Mobile Home Disaster), John De Mol (The Voice, The Winner Is), Matt Walton (One Life to Live, Rescue Me), Matt Pritchard (Dirty Vegan, Dirty Vegan: Another Bite), and Burton. Hurwitz will also serve as showrunner on both game shows.

Ferguson, a bestselling author and stand-up comedian, brings years of hosting experience to the franchise. His work on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which ran for a decade on CBS, remains a favorite on YouTube, according to Deadline. He is represented by WME, Vault Entertainment, and the law firm Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
