FX has announced they have ordered 13 episodes of Billy Crystal’s The Comedians, notes Vulture.
The Comedians stars Billy Crystal paired up with Josh Gad for the show based on a Swedish show with the same name. Crystal stars as a legendary comedian with a rookie comic, Gad, for a fictional sketch show.
Writers and executive producers of the show include: Ben Wexler (Community, Arrested Development), Larry Charles (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld), and Matt Nix (Burn Notice). The show is expected to premiere in 2015, with filming occurring this year. The show marks Crystal’s first return to television in a starring role since Soap in 1981.
