Patton Oswalt to Guest Star on ‘Agents of SHIELD’

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that comedian and actor Patton Oswalt has signed on to guest star on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

Oswalt is cast to play SHIELD Agent Eric Koenig, a World War II counterpart of Nick Fury in the comic book series. It is still not clear what his role in the series will be.

The comedian is clearly very excited to be involved with the show, explaining how he got the part he said, “I got a call from my agent saying, ‘They want you on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and I said ‘Hell yes!” … I’m lucky that I’m visible enough that they wanted to bring me in to play this character.”

Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC Tuesday at 8.
