Below is the official trailer for The Lowdown.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, FX decribes the series as follows: “When the publication of Lee’s latest exposé — a deep dive into the powerful Washberg family — is immediately followed by the suspicious suicide of Dale Washberg, the black sheep of the family, Lee knows he’s stumbled onto something big. Following a trail of breadcrumbs Dale has left behind, urging someone to dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding his death, Lee does just that. What Lee finds is that Betty Jo , the grieving widow, seems to be more interested in her brother-in-law Donald Washberg , a gubernatorial candidate, than in her dearly departed. And powerful forces want to prevent Lee from learning anything more.”
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the cast of the series includes Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Skeleton Crew, Hulu’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot)as Francis, Kaniehtiio Horn (Reservation Dogs, Journey to the Center of the Earth) as Samantha, Keith David (Duster, Hazbin Hotel) as Marty, Rachel Crowl (Smiley Face Killers, Play on Podcasts) as Sally, Jobie James (Bad Boys: Ride or Die, The Hunting Wives) as Police Officer, Zachary Booth (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, A Plague of Wasps) as Elijah, Tim Blake Nelson (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Leaves of Grass) as Dale Washberg and many others. Harjo created The Lowdown, which is set to premiere Sept. 23, and executive produces with Hawke, Garrett Basch (What We Do in the Shadows, Interior Chinatown) and Ryan Hawke (The Good Lord Bird, The Weight). FX Productions is the studio.
