The official release date for the third season of FX’s Atlanta has been announced, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Emmy-winning series will premiere its third season on March 24, four years after the conclusion of its second season.
The third season of Atlanta was expected to debut in 2019, but was delayed due to the pandemic. The network announced an early fourth season renewal in August 2019, and production began again in April.
The series, starring Donald Glover (Community), Bryan Tyree Henry (Eternals), and LaKeith Lee Stanfield (Judas and the Black Messiah), follows a group of young rappers attempting to build their music careers in Atlanta. Atlanta‘s third season will be set and was filmed almost entirely in Europe, where the artists focus on adjusting to new surroundings during their European tour.
“We are thrilled to have Atlanta back with a new season on March 24,” FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier said, via The Hollywood Reporter. “Once again, Donald Glover, the producers, and stellar cast have delivered another signature season synonymous with the excellence that makes Atlanta so great.”
