Full Length ‘Westworld’ Trailer Gives Greater Look At HBO’s Sci-Fi/Western Hybrid Series Adaptation

The first full length trailer for HBO’s Westworld has finally dropped.

As Deadline reports, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s TV adaptation of the sci-fi/western Michael Crichton ’73 classic is a different take on the premise than the film. The series is still about a western theme park populated with androids programmed to fit the western aesthetic, but the series shifts the focus from the park guests of Delos to the androids and their plight.

The full length trailer shows off more of the western setting for the series, and also gives more of a glimpse at the spectacular cast. The trailer shows how Ed Harris and the other Delos androids begin to develop awareness and rebel against Anthony Hopkins and the place that enslaves them.

HBO’s Westworld stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jimmi Simpson, Jeffrey Wright, Sides Babert Knudsen, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Steven Ogg, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Ben Barnes, Clifton Collins Jr., Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, and Tessa Thompson. The series is executive produced by Nolan and Joy, J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk.

Westworld is set to premiere Sunday, October 2nd at 9 p.m.
