Full House actor and comedian Bob Saget (Fuller House, How I Met Your Mother) was found dead in Florida hotel last month, and according to CNN, he died from head trauma as revealed in a statement from his family. Saget was in the middle of a comedy tour at the time of his death.
“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep,” the statement said, via CNN. “No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
The family added that they received an overwhelming amount of love from Saget’s fans, which was a great comfort for them and they are “eternally grateful”.
“As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter,” they continued, via CNN.
The cause of Saget’s death was long speculated after he said he had COVID-19 in December. However, his wife, Kelly Rizzo, told Good Morning, America that his case of COVID was “not anything serious,” and Saget was in good health before his death.
According to his autopsy by the Orange County Medical Examiner in Florida, no drugs or foul play was found.
Saget is best known for his role as Danny Tanner in the popular 80’s sitcom, Full House, as well as being the face of America’s Funniest Home Videos. He received tribute from America’s Funniest Home Videos shortly after his death.
Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three children.
