Fox Announces ‘Demi-God,’ An Animated and Single-Cam Comedy Series

The cable network Fox has announced the development of an upcoming comedy series, entitled Demi-God, according to Deadline. Demi-God will be a comedy series with a twist due to the show’s hybrid presentation of animation and single-camera work. The upcoming developing series is being overseen by its creator, writer, and executive producer in Katie Greenway (The Millers, Bella and the Bulldogs). This new addition to Fox’s developing series has further marked the network’s intentions on engaging with animation projects following the successes of hallmark animated programs like The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers.

Demi-God is to center on a fast-food worker who has created a virtual escape via a fantasy video game and is set on entrenching herself in the world she feels like royalty in despite a game update giving autonomy to the in-game characters. Currently, there is no announced cast set to join the upcoming Fox series. Demi-God adds to the growing list of upcoming and recently released animation projects at Fox including the likes of Housebroken, The Great North, Bless The Harts, Duncanville, and an untitled series from Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty, Community).

Greenway has worked in the past as a television writer for Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs where she wrote five of the comedy series’ episodes. Additionally, Greenway has also contributed as an assistant showrunner to Gregory Garcia (My Name is Earl, Raising Hope) for fifteen episodes of the CBS comedy The Millers

Currently, there is no announced nor expected premiere date for the upcoming comedy series at Fox.
