Fortune Feimster is joining the Tina Fey/Matt Hubbard comedy Cabot College (working title) at Fox.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian will join the Fox comedy as a series regular. Feimster exited her regular writing role with Chelsea Lately but will continue to be a roundtable regular on the show.
The comedy is set in a women’s college that has opened the door to men for the first time. Bonnie Dennison (Third Watch) stars as Thena, a pretty, uptight, and hardcore feminist at Cabot College. As a leader of the campus, she will not stand for allowing men on campus. Broadway actor Jack Cutmore-Scott plays Charlie Deckard, a wealthy, high-society student who enrolls at the college, much to Thena’s annoyance.
Feimster will play Becca, popular, openly gay, outgoing, extremely loud and raucous sophomore student who is a three-sport varsity athlete. The character is similar to Feimster because she is also openly gay and graduated from the women’s college Peace College in North Carolina and plays softball, soccer and tennis.
The series will begin production in March with 30 Rock’s Hubbard penning the script for Universal Television. Hubbard will executive produce along with Fey, Robert Carlock and David Miner. Pam Fryman (How I Met Your Mother) will direct.
Feimster is repped by Gersh, Truhett Garcia Management and Lev Ginsburg.
