“The chaos of wars brought a new wave of refugees to these shores.” Those were some of the first few words in the newest trailer for Amazon’s Carnival Row. The first teaser trailer for the show was released early June, and it gave little information about the show.
Yesterday Amazon dropped the first official trailer for the show. It showed the town of Carnival Row and humans and faerie and working to coexist together. The show stars Orlando Bloom as Rycroft “Philo” Philostrate and Cara Delevingne as Vignette Stonemoss. Carnival Row is set in a Victorian mythological world as immigrant magical creatures are forced to abandon their homelands after humans invaded it. The growing population of magical creatures struggle to coexist with humans, because the creatures are forbidden to live, love, or fly with the same freedoms as humans. As tensions grow between the two groups detective Rycroft Philostrate must work to solve the string the gruesome murders that could destroy the peace. While working on his investigation, he reunites with refugee faerie, Vignette Stonemoss, as they rekindle their love affair. However, Vignette has secrets of her own to hide.
Amazon has released trailers highlighting both Bloom and Delevingne’s characters.
