HBO has recently released a trailer for the upcoming second season of the acclaimed fantasy series, House of the Dragon set 200 years before Game of Thrones. It is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, June 16, around 9 to 10 p.m. on the titled station and Max. The trailer opens up with a character approaching the throne and a dialogue that says, “A Targaryen who sits on the iron throne is not just a king or queen. They are protectors of the realm.” The trailer does not shy away from action and gives a glimpse into the upcoming battle between the two factions of House Targaryen.
The members that will be returning from season one are Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Emma D’arcy (Truth Seekers), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), and Eve Best (Fate: The Winx Saga). The series will also have new additions to the cast, such as Abubakar Salim (Napoleon) as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin (The Greatest Showman) as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox (Victor Frankenstein) as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale (The Outfit) as Ser Simon Strong.

It is unknown what role he will play or what side he will be on. The second season may possibly show members of other famous houses mentioned in Game of Thrones, such as Lancaster and Greyjoy.
