

The world of The Continent of the highly acclaimed series The Witcher is continuously expanding, with Netflix already preparing production for the final season. According to Comicbook, the news comes ahead of the fourth season preparing to release on Netflix around Fall 2025. The upcoming season will be different as Geralt, who used to be played by Henry Cavill (Enola Holmes), will now be portrayed by Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games).
According to Comicbook, the plot will follow the events from the previous one in which Geralt, Jasper, played by Joey Batey (The Witcher: Blood Origin), Yennifer, played by Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders) and Ciri, played by Freya Allan (Gunpowder Milkshake) are separated from one another. They must traverse the demon-invested lands, defeating evil forces, and hopefully meet back with each other. The location of the final season of The Witcher has been confirmed to start in Cape Town, South Africa, which contrasts with the previous ones, which were filmed in England.
Netflix has not kept most information surrounding the final season under lock and key, but has announced that along with it there will also be a new spin-off series, dubbed The Rats: A Witcher’s Tale. According to Comicbook, this upcoming projects will focus on The Rats, a group of young criminals that steal for the rich to further satisfy their own needs. We first get glimpse of the group at the end of the third season, in which Ciri had joined the group after escaping from her bounty hunter captors.
While fans of the series await further news of the release of the fourth season and production of the final one, the first three seasons of The Witcher are available to stream on Netflix. Along with the main series, Netflix has the prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origins, available, as well as the two animated films, Nightmare of the Wolf and Sirens of the Deep.
