The final season premiere of Veep will be postponed until 2019 to accommodate Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ cancer treatment regimen. Season 7 production will begin in August allowing plenty of time for the star to recuperate before taking on Selina Meyer’s reelection campaign.
According to TVLine, series head Matt Walsh stated, “We’ll start filming in August and it will air in 2019. We’ve seen [Julia], she’s done some table reads [and] she’s doing well.”
Last September, Louis-Dreyfus took home an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in Veep. The next day she bravely made the announcement about her breast cancer diagnosis. A couple months later show execs released the statement that production would be delayed.
HBO has been on a roll with pushing series into 2019. Game of Thrones fans will also need to wait until next year for winter to arrive.
