According to Comicbook, the new Daredevil reboot will not be including some fan-favorite actors such as Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) and Elden Henson (The Butterfly Effect). Recently it has been revealed in new piece reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that Jon Bernthal’s (The Walking Dead) Punisher will be joining the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again. Even though the Punisher will be joining the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the rebooted series, it seems that sadly Matt Murdock’s friends Foggy Nelson and Karen Page might not be in the new Disney+ series.
The character of Daredevil is based on a Marvel Comics series that debuted in 1964. The series follows Matt Murdock, a blind man who by day, works as a lawyer and by night, fights crime as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. The revived series takes its title name from the 1986 comic book series written by Frank Miller (Batman: Year One) and illustrated by David Mazzuchelli (Big Man).
Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything)in a recent interview stated that he would welcome any of the Defenders back into the fold if possible. Cox explained to Variety, “It was an absolute delight to work with everyone on all of those shows at Netflix. They were the beating heart of all of those shows. I would be honored and thrilled to work with any of them again.’’
Cox added, “I would hate to single anyone out and I would hate to speculate because I just don’t know what the plan is going forward. That’s way above my pay grade. There are so many great stories to tell. There are stories to tell again. That wouldn’t be inconsistent with what they do in the comic book universe.”
Currently, IMBD states that alongside Cox and Bernthal, other cast members include Vincent D’ Onofrio (GodFather of Harlem), Margarita Levieva (The Deuce), Sandrine Holt (Better Call Saul), Micheal Gandolfini (The Offer), and Nikki M. James (Severance).
As of now Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again has no official release date.
