Netflix has renewed its animated series F is for Family for a fifth and final season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 1970s based show was inspired by comedian Bill Burr (The King of Staten Island, Breaking Bad), who also voices the main character Frank Murphy, a veteran living in the Pennsylvania suburbs with his wife Sue, voiced by Laura Dern (Marriage Story, Jurassic Park), and their family.
After the upcoming fifth season, the Netflix show will come to an end in 2021. In a statement, Mike Price, the show’s co-creator alongside Burr, thanked the cast and crew for their support throughout the years, “Working on this show with the great Bill Burr, Vince Vaughn, and our amazing cast, writers, producers, and crew has been the greatest joy of my life, and I’m thrilled that we get to do one more season with the Murphys. I’ll be forever grateful to everyone at Netflix, Gaumont and Wild West who let us share this stressed-out, foul-mouthed, and loving family with the world,” via The Hollywood Reporter. Alongside Burr and Dern, the remainder of the cast consists of Justin Long (Jeepers Creepers, Accepted), Haley Reinhart (We Can be Heroes), Mo Collins (Parks and Recreation, Mad TV), Sam Rockwell (The Green Mile, Moon), and Phil Hendrie (This is 40).
F is for Family is among the streamer’s longest-running animated series, trailing behind Bojack Horseman, which ran for 6 seasons and Big Mouth which has been renewed through a sixth season and its fourth yet to be released.
