In a first look at Prime Video’s upcoming American crime drama television series Countdown, an official trailer has been released to their YouTube channel just ahead of the show’s June 25th launch. The show will initially release the first three episodes for an extended dive into the series.

The trailer features plenty of explosive action and high-speed chases of high-profile criminals. It begins with car exploding, and the lead characters, played by Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, The Boys) and Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Watchmen), appear blasé about the entire situation in the next scene. The trailer gives a snapshot of a love-hate relationship between the two partners. Viewers also get a glimpse of a chaotic storyline unfolding with a top-secret mission involving a foreign terrorist and the heroes racing against time to stop a “911 level event.” Improved gunfights, bomb squads, and even James Bond-esque missions at swanky soirees follow. Expect to see lots of machine guns and hand-to-hand combat, followed by clever one-liners, the perfect formula for an action series. The trailer even hints at the series’ protagonists going rogue and playing by the bad guys’ rules in a possible twist.

According to the official press release, the show will be helmed by Derek Haas (Chicago P.D., Wanted) and produced by MGM Studios.

Prime’s official press release describes the show as, “When an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight, LAPD detective Mark Meachum, portrayed by Ackles, is recruited to a secret task force, alongside undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement, to investigate. But the hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions.”

Countdown will be exclusively available on Prime Video on June 25th with a three-episode debut.
