‘Evil’ is Back with Sinister Season Two Trailer and Premiere Date at Paramount+

Evil is back and promises to be scarier than ever in the first trailer for season two released by Paramount+ on Monday. The steamer also announced that the entire new season will premiere on June 20, ready and waiting to be devoured, as reported by Entertainment Weekly

Created by the power couple Robert King and Michell King (The Good Wife), Evil is a supernatural horror series that deals with the catholic church, as it involves wild exorcisms and the devil hiding in plain sight. The series stars Katja Herbers (The Leftovers) as psychologist and non-believer Dr. Kristen Bouchard, who’s hired by the catholic church to determine whether individuals are suffering demonic possession or insanity. Bouchard works alongside the priest in training Mike Colter, portrayed by David Acosta (Luke Cage), and Ben Shakir, who, portrayed by Aasif Mandvi (The Brink), is the trio’s tech expert and designated cynic.

In addition the series also features Michael Emerson (Lost) as the evil incarnate Dr. Leland Townsend, Kurt Fuller (Midnight in Paris) as Dr. Boggs, and Chrstine Lahti (Lieberman in Love) as Kristen’s tough-love mother. Already watched by over 6 million viewers on CBS, when the first season arrived on Netflix in 2020 it began trending within the top ten most watched television shows. The streamer helped push Evil into the spotlight, and now the series has gained millions of new viewers as it steamrolls ahead into season two.

Originally airing its first season on CBS which ran for thirteen episodes from September 2019 through January 2020, it’s safe to say that the upcoming season has been a long time coming. It’s been over a year since that last episode filled with demons and cliffhangers aired, and since then Evil moved from CBS to the streamer Paramount+. It’s a drastic shift, as viewers will no longer have to wait each week to see what happens next and instead can now binge all episodes starting June 20.

In the trailer for season two, Evil suggests many twists and turns are on their way as Kristin’s soul may be compromised. Viewers will remember in the shocking cliffhanger at the end of season one that suggests Kristin murdered a serial killer who was stalking her family, and in turn may be possessed by the devil.
