‘Even Stevens’ Cast Reunites Via Zoom for Show’s 20th Anniversary

The entire cast and crew of Disney Channel’s Even Stevens came together for an online reunion on Zoom, according to Entertainment Weekly.  The zoom call was to celebrate the children comedy’s 20th anniversary which ran for three seasons from 2000 to 2003.

Though Shia Lebouf was unavailable to attend despite the cast reaching out, the majority of  actors and crew members joined in. These included Christy Carlson Romano, who played Ren, Nick Spano, who portrayed Donnie, and Tom Virtue, who played Steve Stevens. Additionally  casting director Jen Tomasick as well as members of the and make-up and hair directors made an appearance.

The hour long Zoom call revolved around the cast and crew filling each other in while looking back at their time throughout the series’ production.  The majority of the crew admitted their favorite episode to make was ‘influenza,’ full of various musical pieces.

The writers added that Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire had more of Disney’s attention as theyr recieved more funding towards production and promotion. This lead Romano to reference the Even Stevens jokingly as Disney’s “ugly step-child” as the series allegedly had less supervision and got to explore more artistic freedom due to the lack of oversight.

The cast credited Labouf’s talent involving improvisation as a ways the series kept an artistic flare that separated itself from many children’s series. With bacon loving beans now admitting to being a vegan as well as Ren becoming a singer in her career, there is much to catch up on through Romano’s YouTube Video here.
