Evangeline Lilly to Star in ‘Albedo’ Mystery Drama for Walmart’s Vudu

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Evangeline Lilly (Ant-ManWasp, Avengers: Endgame) will star in Albedo, an eight-episode mystery drama series for Walmart’s online VOD service Vudu and Bell Media in Canada. The series, written by Max and Adam Reid is set 150 years in the future. Lilly will play detective Vivien Coleman, who will be on the edge of the solar system to investigate scientist’s murder onboard an isolated space station. She finds herself trapped in the space station and cut-off from Earth, along with a small crew of brilliant and suspicious scientists, The Hollywood Reporter reports.”What begins as a classic murder mystery evolves into a fight for survival that may threaten the future of our species,” Deadline states.

Brad Peyton (Netflix and Discovery Canada series Frontier) will direct and executive produce the drama that received a straight-to-series order for Entertainment One. Peyton is repped by CAA and The Character’s Talent Agency, The Hollywood Reporter stated. According to The Hollywood Reporter, writers Max and Adam Reid will be the series creators and executive producers. The Reids are best known for writing the Amazon Prime series Sneaky Pete, and Dark Cargo, executive produced by Ben Stiller and Nicky Weinstock. They are repped by WME, The Cartel, and Suzanne DePoe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lilly earned Screen Actors Guild Award in 2006 and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her role on TV’s Lost. She is repped by UTA and Silver Lining Entertainment. According to Deadline, Lilly is known for her critically praised work in Lost, and has recently “reprised her role in Marvel’s box office record-shattering Avengers: Endgame. She’ll next be seen in the film Dreamland.” “The opportunity to have Evangeline bring Vivien Coleman to life coupled with Brad Peyton’s fantastic vision for this series will create a truly epic experience for audiences around the world,” Jocelyn Hamilton, eOne’s President – Canada, Television told Deadline.

According to Deadline, Albedo will be distributed in the U.S. by VOD service Vudu, a subsidiary of Walmart and presented in Canada on Bell Media platforms. The series has been in development at Bell Media since 2016 and is expected to begin pre-production in May. It will be internationally distributed by eOne.
