Eva Longoria Joins Season Four Of Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building’

Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives, Overboard) has been tapped to be the newest addition to the fourth season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is set to be a recurring character in the series who becomes vital to all the plot twists that this season’s investigation holds. However, the details of Longoria’s storyline have remained hush-hush.

Longoria is the second actress to be tied to Only Murders in the Building’s upcoming season. As previously reported, Molly Shannon (Superstar, Bob’s Burgers) has also been cast for the fourth season. The SNL star is set to play a highly prominent businesswoman from Los Angeles who finds herself immersed in the life of Sazz Pataki, as portrayed by Jane Lynch (Glee, A Mighty Wind), and her *spoiler alert* murder investigation.

The Martin Short (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Morning Show), Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena + Chef), and Steve Martin (The Pink Panther, Baby Mama) led series will welcome Shannon and Longoria on board with the original cast. Additionally, Meryl Streep (Out of Africa, The Devil Wears Prada) will reprise her role as Loretta Durkin, whom she played during Only Murders in the Building’s third season.

Only Murders in the Building season four will continue from the cliffhanger of season three where *spoiler alert* Sazz, a longtime stunt double of Martin’s character, Charles, gets shot and killed at the end of the finale.

Sazz was seen on Charles’ kitchen floor, writing something with her blood as the season finale ended. The motive behind her murder and whether or not Charles was the actual target is still yet to be found out. Nevertheless, fans won’t see less of the adored character simply because she passed away; The Hollywood Reporter notes it’ll be the opposite.

“We’ve loved writing Sazz so much, and that’s the beauty of the show is, you get a lot more time with the victims; they’re not gone when some ill fate happens to them. And that’s, I think, also why Jane said she was excited because it’s a good opportunity to go deeper with Sazz and find out what the whole big life and everything else was with her and the world of stunt doubling,”  said John Hoffman (Grace and Frankie, Looking), the series co-showrunner to The Hollywood Reporter after season three wrapped.
