The Hollywood Reporter shared that actress Chloe Cherry, known widely for her breakout mainstream debut in the second season of Euphoria as Faye Valentine, will be releasing a memoir. The project, titled Somewhere Dark and Hot, will recount her experiences working in the adult entertainment industry, including the events behind her role in the hit HBO drama.
Via THR and publishing company Simon & Schuster, the book is projected to release on February 23, 2027. Continuing, a section of the memoir’s synopsis:
“In Somewhere Dark and Hot, Chloe tells the story of how she survived it all and why she regrets none of it. Shocking, funny, and nakedly matter-of-fact, she dismantles the myths we tell about ‘good girls’ and ‘bad choices.’ In the tradition of Julia Fox’s Down the Drain and Jennette McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died, Somewhere Dark and Hot is a raw and fearless memoir about girlhood, survival, desire, performance, and the power of owning your story.”
Per THR, Cherry left her emotionally abusive Pennsylvania home at 18, and started working in adult entertainment one week after turning 19-years-old. She formally announced stepping back from the industry in 2022, intending to pursue screen acting full-time. Cherry was originally a recurring character in her second season debut on Euphoria, but was later upped to a main role in the third and final season.
A prior interview between Cherry and THR detailed how Euphoria changed her as she reflected on the conclusion of the series;
“[Euphoria] made me perceive myself in a completely new way. I was, for the first time in my life, appreciated for my mind. I was appreciated for being funny. I was appreciated for coming up with lines. It was the first time in my whole life that I felt appreciation for my brain and not just everything being about, I don’t know – it was so great for me to go through this transformation. It completely changed my life trajectory forever to realize that I actually am smart enough to do things. It just makes me realize it’s never too late to be what you might’ve been.”
Stuart Roberts, vice president, executive editor and special projects at Simon & Schuster remarked that the memoir is “both intensely personal and culturally significant, capturing the realities of American girlhood, performance, fame, sex, and self-invention,” reports THR.
As stated prior, Somewhere Dark and Hot will be released on February 23, 2027.
