Esquire to Re-air ‘What Would Ryan Lochte Do?’ Episodes This Weekend After LochteGate

As a way to capitalize on the recent Ryan Lochte scandal that’s currently happening in Brazil and in the United States, Variety has reported that the Esquire Network has planned a marathon of Lochte’s reality show What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, which aired on E! in 2013.

E! and Esquire are sibling networks, which is possibly why the reruns are being on Esquire.

The marathon starts on Friday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. and will conclude the same night at 10 p.m., meaning viewers will get to relive Lochte preparing for upcoming events, including the Olympics, even though his run at the 2016 Olympics recently came to an end, with Lochte winning a gold medal along with some of his teammates in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay.

Viewers will also get a glimpse into Lochte’s personal life from 2013, where he worked on creating a fashion line, trained for swimming events and hung out with his friends and family members.

E! canceled the show after one season that consisted of eight 30 minute episodes.

Maybe re-watching the show will give viewers a small hint of what Lochte will do now that he’s facing potential legal issues.

The renewed interest in the show may be because of LochteGate, where Lochte is suspected of fabricating a police report in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, home of the 2016 Olympics. Lochte and other members of the United States swim team said they were robbed and held at gunpoint following the conclusion of the swimming events at the Olympics. Lochte left Rio shortly before a Brazilian judge ordered him to stay in the country. However, reports are coming out that Lochte and his teammates vandalized a bathroom at a gas station and the four swimmers could potentially be charged for false testimony and vandalism.

Three of the swimmers – Lochte, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Cogner – are all back in the United States. The fourth swimmer, Jimmy Feigen, is still in Rio, according to USA Today.

The marathon of What Would Ryan Lochte Do? starts tonight at 6 p.m. and concludes after 10 p.m. The only content that E! has of the show on their website are multiple photo galleries involving Lochte. If you’d rather watch the show without commercials, all eight of the episodes are available for purchase on iTunes.
