And now, everyone’s favorite daytime host and America’s sweetheart, Ellen DeGeneres, will return to stand-up on Netflix. It has been 15 years since Ellen has taken the stage to delve into a comedy set. This past summer, she participated in a West Coast tour for her Netflix special titled Relatable. It will be released on December 18. The special will include two performances that had taken place in Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall, and San Diego’s Balboa Theatre.
During her show, Ellen felt nostalgic about her stand-up days. She says: “I just all of a sudden was like I miss stand-up, I want to do it. So I made a deal with Netflix. And I was working on stand-up all summer.” Netflix has given stand-up opportunities to great comedians such as Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Jerry Seinfeld. It seemed like an easy decision for Ellen to join them as all of those specials have proved to be such a success.
There is no doubt that Relatable will be a huge hit. After all, what can’t Ellen do?
