Edgar Ramirez (Yes Day) has officially been cast in Netflix’s upcoming drama series entitled Florida Man, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Created by Donald Todd (This is Us), the series follows a struggling ex-cop, played by Ramirez, when he’s forced to return to his home state to follow a lead of finding a mobster’s runaway girlfriend. He ultimately uncovers family secrets and reunites with old friends while doing the job he’s most passionate about.
Ramirez reunites with the streamer following his work in the Netflix hit film Yes Day, where he starred opposite Jennifer Garner (13 Going on 30). Within its first four weeks on the streamer, at least two minutes of the film was watched by at least 53 million member households, as Netflix estimates. The actor’s credits include HBO’s The Undoing, Borderlands, Jungle Cruise, and The 355 alongside American Crime Story.
Todd’s credits also include NBC’s This is Us, ABC’s Samantha Who, Ugly Betty, and Fox’s Sleepy Hollow. Florida Man is expected to include eight total episodes in its debut season.
