

The highly renowned prequel series, The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power has announced a cast update on the approaching third season.The plot of the series takes place before the events from the film, in which fans get to see the forging of all 20 rings of the series, and follows the journey of a young Galandriel, played by Morfydd Clark (Crawl, Dracula) to defeat Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers (The Survivors,Medici).
According to Prime Video, the confirmed new cast members announced for the upcoming season include Andrew Richardson (Killer Among Us,The Independent), Zubin Varla (Deep State, Strike Back), and Adam Young (The Witcher: Blood Origin, The Arches). The specific roles for these actors have not been revealed yet. According to mxdwn, it was reported that Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things ,Camelot) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes ,Vesper) will also be joining the cast in the third season.
According to mxdwn, the third season will showcase not only new members but also returning such as Robert Aramayo (The Empty Man, Exit Plan) as Young Elrond, Daniel Weyman (Foyle’s War, Dunkirk) as Young Gandalf, and Owain Arthur (Coffee Wars, The Patrol) as Durin IV. Season three will follow the events from the finale in which the Elven Kingdom, Eregion has fallen and is destroyed by the orc forces led by Sauron. We also see glimpses into a familiar setting within the franchise, in which the citizens find a valley known as Rivendell.
The plot for the third season has not been revealed yet, but we can speculate that it time skips and focuses mainly on Sauron forging the Master Ring, which is a pivotal moment in the franchise. As fans await updates on the release of the third season, both the first and second seasons of The Rings of Power are available for streaming on Prime Video.
