After the news broke about Kim Kardashian West being robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room, Variety is reporting that E!, the network that airs episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has suspended production on the long-running reality show.
“Kim’s well-being is our core focus right now. No decision has been made as to when production will resume,” a spokesperson for E! said.
The network also declined to say whether cameras were rolling during the time that Kardashian West was robbed.
Since Kardashian West was robbed of her jewelry, the Kardashian family has kept a low profile on social media, with Kourtney Kardashian, the eldest Kardashian sibling, posting a daily devotional quote on Twitter. Caitlyn Jenner posted a photo to Instagram as a way to show support for Kardashian West.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been a staple of E!’s programming since it first premiered on Oct. 14, 2007. The show made household names of the Kardashians and the Jenners, including matriarch Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian Jr., Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
In its history of being on the air, it has spawned many spinoff shows, including Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloe & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons, Dash Dolls and Rob & Chyna, the latest spinoff miniseries that focuses on Rob Kardashian and his fiance, Blac Chyna, as they prepare for the birth of their first child together.
Some of the biggest episodes of the show’s history has been Kim’s wedding to ex-husband Kris Humphries, the birth of Kourtney’s children and Kim’s wedding to rapper Kanye West.
According to BuzzFeed, there are constantly cameras that are rolling on each member of the family. There’s also been only one time that the cameras stopped rolling, and that was a year ago when Lamar Odom, Khloe’s estranged husband, was admitted to the hospital after he was found unconscious in Las Vegas after an overdose.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians returns to E! on Oct. 23 for the second half of the 12th season. As of right now, the show will premiere on time. The show has been renewed for season 13 and it’s likely that the show will continue on through at least 2018, as the family signed new deals with E! in 2015.
