After a lengthy hiatus, Disney’s Ducktales is set to return to this fall with six all-new episodes. As reported by Screen Rant, executive producer and head writer for the reboot Frank Angones (Wander Over Yonder) announced the new schedule on his Twitter:
The announcement includes six episodes beginning on September 21st and ending on October 26th. While these are not the last episodes of the season, it will break some new ground for the series. The show’s first Halloween episode, “The Trickening!”, will air on October 5th. Additionally, “Let’s Get Dangerous!” will be the first ever hour-long episode for the show when it premieres on October 19th.
It’s worth noting that the title for the hour-long episode is the catchphrase for the character Darkwing Duck. Being Ducktales‘ take on a superhero, Darkwing Duck started as a minor character in the original 1987 series before being spun-off into a new show named after the character in 1991. The 2017 Ducktales has been slowly introducing the character and his associated arch-nemeses since a brief cameo in the first episode. In a reply to his original tweet, Angones described the hour-long episode as a “special Darkwing Duck event.”
The Ducktales reboot follows eccentric billionaire Scrooge McDuck as he takes his great-nephews Huey Dewey and Louie on globe-trotting adventures. Along for the ride are the triplets’ mother Della Duck, their uncle Donald Duck, pilot Launchpad McQuack, Scrooge’s bodyguard and housekeeper Ms. Beakley and her great-niece Webby.
The first two seasons of Ducktales, alongside the entirety of the original and Darkwing Duck, are available to stream on Disney+.
