Drew Barrymore may add a talk show to her list of current projects.
According to Deadline, Barrymore is in talks with Warner Bros. TV to host her own talk show. There is not yet a deal in place, but if the talk show comes to fruition it would build upon Barrymore’s current relationship with Warner Bros. TV. Barrymore will narrate the NBC docuseries First Dates which comes from WBTV. Barrymore being brought on to narrate the series is probably a wink and a nod to 50 First Dates.
Due to there not being a deal in place as of yet details on Barrymore’s possible talk show are scarce, so it is not clear whether her show would be a daytime talk show or a late night one (though Hollywood Reporter suggests it will be a daytime talk show). Variety reports that Warner Bros. TV has declined to comment as of yet.
The Golden Globe-winning actress has worn plenty of hats throughout her career, becoming a successful actress, producer and director. Barrymore has dabbled in TV on the acting side, lending her voice on Family Guy and starred alongside Jessica Lange in HBO’s Grey Gardens. She is also set to star in Netflix’s upcoming series Santa Clarita Diet with Timothy Olyphant, which is set to premiere next year. Barrymore has done much more in television on the producing side, having served as an executive producer on Tough Love, Tough Love: Couples, Charlie’s Angels, Blooms, Santa Clarita Diet and Knife Fight.
