Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah), star of Ironheart, speaks about the legacy from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, according to ComicBook. Like all prior stories and superhero mantles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, every series or film leads to new characters and heroes. With some heroes going out of commission during the different phases of the MCU, there needs to be a successor. Ironheart is to be the newest hero which debuted in the recent MCU film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Thorne states that her solo series built up more momentum after premiering in the film.
Thorne spoke with Variety during the red carpet of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and said, “Having Black Panther: Wakanda Forever lead into Ironheart is pure joy. It’s pure, unfiltered excitement and readiness to really carry that momentum and carry the mantle. To pass it off and add to the greatness that Wakanda Forever has done such an exceptional job of laying the foundation for and building upon it. Now the only thing left to do is run with it.”

Riri Williams ,also known as Ironheart, is a young super genius who follows in the steps of Ironman. Following the loss of Ironman in the MCU, Williams took on the mantle as she created her suit of armor to combat evil.
According to ComicBook, Thorne wouldn’t reveal many details about the series but admitted to ComicBook that fans should get excited for her character to interact with others.
Thorne admitted to ComicBook earlier in the month, “Honestly, I’m going to say it’s the whole core ensemble. It’s really, look at me trying to answer without giving away the story line, but I definitely think the core cast is such, for the same reason that we’ve actually just touched on. I think, of course, I’m excited for folks to see more of Ironheart and to see these other layers that they didn’t get to, they didn’t get to see or capture in Wakanda Forever.’’
She continued, “But, in that same vein, there’s so much more color and experience and love being expressed in this show. Like, trust across the spectrum in a way that’s real and authentic. And I think that could be again, a very good thing and it could be incredibly refreshing for so many people. So, I’m really excited for them to see. For them to see the folks that are leading this show.”
Fans can view Thorne’s role as Ironheart premiere in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever now available to stream on Disney+.
