With the second season of Percy Jackson and The Olympians coming out next week, Disney+ has released a special look of what we are in store for when it comes to the second season. The second season will be an adaptation of the second book that Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Kane Chronicles) has written called The Sea of Monsters.
The second season will follow Percy played by Walker Scobell (Looking Through Water, Secret Headquarters) who is tasked with saving Camp Half-Blood from danger. However, Camp Half-Blood will not be his only concern, for his friend Grover played by Aryan Simhardi (Freakier Friday, Trevor: The Musical) has been kidnapped and must rescue him as well. However he will not go on this journey alone, joining him will be his friend Annabeth Chase played by Leah Sava’ Jeffries (Beast, Something from Tiffany’s) and a new character who may be familiar with people who have read the books, Percy’s brother Tyson played by Daniel Diemer (The Old Man, Under the Bridge).
The cast of the series consists of Scobell, Jeffries, Simhardi, Charlie Bushnell (In the Know, Diary of a Future President) who plays Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn (Are You Afraid of the Dark, Head of the Class) who plays Clarisse La Rue, Courtney B. Vance (Presumed Innocent, Lilo & Stitch) who plays Zeus, Aleks Paunovic (Hostile Takeover, Reacher) who plays Polyphemus, Tamara Smart (The Wayfinders, Wendel & Wild) who plays Thalia Grace, Andre Day (Is This Thing On?, Bel-Air) who plays Athena, Timothy Simons (The Twits, Easy’s Waltz) who plays Tantalus, and Virginia Kull (The Rookie, Presumed Innocent) who plays Sally Jackson.
According to Deadline, the series has been renewed for a third season in March 2025. The third season will introduce two characters that are from the books named Nico and Bianca Di Angelo who are the children of Hades. The second season is set to premiere on December 10, 2025.
