According to Deadline, new logo for the upcoming WandaVision spinoff series, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, has been released by Disney+ and Marvel Studios. The series is set to debut in Fall 2024 and will star Kathryn Hahn (Tiny Beautiful Things, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) as Agatha Harkness.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries was originally announced as Agatha: House of Harkness; the title was changed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos in July of 2022 before the current title of the series was announced by Disney in September of 2023.
Deadline reported that description of the first episode of Agatha: Darkhold Diaries was released via the U.S. Copyright Office Public Records System, which reads, “In the first episode we see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finally break out of a spell she has been trapped in. She can’t wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.”
Jac Schaeffer is listed as director, according to Deadline. Along with Hahn, the cast also features Patti LuPone (Beau is Afraid, Life Goes On) as Lilia, Ali Ahn (The Diplomat, Raising Dion) as Alice, Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus, Parks and Recreation) as Rio, Sasheer Zamata (Home Economics, The Weekend) as Jen K.
The cast also includes Joe Locke (Heartstopper, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries), Maria Dizzia (Orange is the New Black, 13 Reasons Why), Okwui Okpokwasili (I Am Legend, Madeline’s Madeline), Emma Caulfield Ford (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once Upon a Time), and Miles Gutierrez-Riley (The Wilds, The Moon & Back).
Earlier this year, Lupone talked about her character and the story of Agatha: Darkhold Diaries on The View, she said, “It’s a coven of witches, and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world. I researched her, she’s hot, she’s really hot, she’s got a great body and hair,” Deadline reports.
