Disney+ Reveals Episode Count of ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’

One more Star Wars show is nearing its premiere. According to Comicbook, Disney+ recently revealed how many episodes the new Star Wars show Skeleton Crew will debut with. The first season will debut with eight episodes. Other Star Wars shows like Ahsoka and The Acolyte will also debut with eight episodes.

The directors Daniel Kwan (Swiss Army Man, Legion) and Daniel Scheinert (The Death of Dick Long, Omniboat: A Fast Boat Fantasia), also known as “The Daniels,” have revealed that they directed an episode of the long-awaited Disney+ Star Wars series Skeleton Crew

The show has been in production for the last few years, even if only a few details have been revealed about it. The Daniels worked on the Star Wars series before the release of their multi-Oscar-winning movie Everything Everywhere All at Once in the spring of 2022.

According to Deadline, Skeleton Crew stars Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, The New Pope) and is being directed mainly by Jon Watts (The Old Man, Cop Car), who is better known for directing the newest Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland (Uncharted, Cherry). The show is also being executive produced by two of the biggest names in the Star Wars franchise, Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian, Avengers: Endgame) and Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Book of Boba Fett).

According to Comicbook, in the first episode of the season “Chapter 17 – The Apostate” of The Mandalorian the audience is introduced to a group of pirates, including Gorian Shard, who is rumored to be one of the antagonists in Skeleton Crew. The rumor also says that the pirate Vane, who has a confrontation with Greef Karga, played by Carl Weathers (Predator, Rocky), in Nevarro, is also involved in Skeleton Crew

Bespin Bulletin have said that their sources claim the pirates that showed up on The Mandalorian will be the main antagonists of Skeleton Crew, including Gorian Shard being a major enemy in the show. Their brief appearance has been enough to establish their presence and backgrounds before their appearance in Skeleton Crew

Not a lot of details have been released about Skeleton Crew. The show has been described as a story set in the New Republic era which will follow “a group of kids lost in the Star Wars galaxy trying to find their way home.”

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has not announced a release date yet. In the meantime, enjoy the newest season of The Mandalorian only on Disney+.
