Disney Plus announced that two episodes of Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye will be released on Nov. 24th this year, via Decider. The highly anticipated series will consist of six episodes in total, and the rest of the series will become available each Wednesday following the premiere. A new teaser of the series is also available now, offering fans a glimpse of the characters in action.
Before Hawkeye, Disney Plus released multiple live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe series such as WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, and Loki. Hawkeye marks another effort of Disney Plus to follow up with the successes of these previous works. As fans have been craving for another MCU series for a while, the wait is almost over. They can now prepare for this upcoming series as more previews become available.
Hawkeye tells the story of former Avenger Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye. Setting in New York City, Clint is trying to get back to his family for Christmas. Although the mission sounds simple, Clint encounters threats from his past that make this task difficult. To defeat the challenges, Clint will team up with a 22-year-old skilled archer, Kate Bishop. The duo will have to collaborate and unravel a criminal conspiracy throughout the way.
Jeremy Renner will play the lead role, Hawkeye. Renner’s character is no stranger to the MCU series. Hawkeye appeared in numerous Marvel Studios’ films such as Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Black Widow (2021). Other than Hawkeye, Renner is also known for his performances in The Hurt Locker, This Town, and S.W.A.T.
Singer-Songwriter Hailee Steinfeld will play the other main character, Kate Bishop. Steinfeld also appeared in many films before such as True Gift, Pitch Perfect 2 & 3, and The Edge of Seventeen. She currently plays Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ drama series, Dickinson.
This series also features Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), Fra Fee (Les Miserables), Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul), Zahn McClarnon (Longmire), Brian d’Arcy James (Shrek the Musica), and Alaqua Cox. This will be the MCU series debut for Native American actress Cox.
Jonathan Igla serves as the head writer, creator, and executive producer of this show. Igla formerly worked on other projects such as Mad Men, Pitch, and Sorry For Your Loss. Hawkeye will be available exclusively on Disney Plus and is set to conclude on December 22nd, 2021.
