Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul is leaving her role as EVP of Communications for Disney Entertainment Television after eight years with the company. According to Deadline, Bulochnikov-Paul announced the departure in a memo to her team, saying she is leaving Disney “to pursue a new opportunity.”
Her Disney career began in March 2017 when she joined Freeform as VP of Communications shortly after the network rebranded from ABC Family. She helped launch the first Freeform Summit in January 2018 before leaving for a nine-month stint at Netflix. Bulochnikov-Paul returned to Freeform later that year and began taking on communications responsibilities across more of Disney’s television business.
Deadline notes that she was promoted to SVP of Communications for ABC Entertainment in 2019 and EVP of Publicity for ABC and General Entertainment in 2021. In 2023, she became EVP of Publicity and Head of Communications for Disney General Entertainment, overseeing communications across brands including ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Kids & Family, Disney Television Studios, FX, Hulu Originals and National Geographic Content.
Her responsibilities changed in April as part of a new communications structure under Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro. Bulochnikov-Paul remained EVP of Communications for Disney Entertainment Television but began reporting to DET Chairman Debra OConnell and Disney Chief Communications Officer Paul Roeder. EVP April Carretta assumed executive communications responsibilities for Disney President and Chief Creative Officer Dana Walden.
Deadline reports that Bulochnikov-Paul’s exit is not connected to Disney’s recent voluntary early retirement offers or the company’s latest round of layoffs, which did not affect Disney Entertainment Television.
During her time leading communications across Disney’s television and streaming portfolio, Bulochnikov-Paul and her team handled several major company developments. Those included Jimmy Kimmel’s brief suspension in fall 2025 and ABC’s more recent dispute with the FCC over its demand for an early broadcast license review.
In her farewell message, Bulochnikov-Paul thanked Walden, Roeder and OConnell while reflecting on the challenges her team faced together. She described Disney as the company where she was “raised professionally” and said she was proud of what the communications team had accomplished.
OConnell also praised Bulochnikov-Paul in a separate staff memo, calling her a “thoughtful leader” and crediting her communications strategy with helping Disney navigate major challenges in recent years.
