Disney Channel expects That’s So Raven fans to love Raven’s Home even more for paying mind to the comedic timing that won over audiences years ago, now seen in the new trailer just released.
For one, characters Raven (Raven-Symoné) and Chelsea (Anneliese van der Pol) both got married, had children, divorced and are now living together in Raven’s family home. Jonathan McDaniel will be reprising his That’s So Raven role, but as Raven Baxter’s now ex-husband Devon Carter. The new cast is sure to be just as funny, with newcomers Issac Ryan Brown as Booker, Raven’s psychic son and twin of Navia Robinson who plays Nia, twin sister. Meanwhile, Jason Maybaum will play Chelsea’s son Levi. Sky Katz also joins the cast as Tess, Nia and Booker’s best friend and neighbor, E! News reports.
Disney Channel anticipates Raven’s Home will bring back the same slap-stick comedy That’s So Raven saw years ago. “There is only one Raven—and for over 25 years, she has blessed audiences around the world with the greatest gift of all—the pure, unadulterated joy of laugh-out-loud funny. After being a part of over 20 different Disney projects, we are thrilled to be bringing Raven home to Disney Channel once again,” President and CCO of Disney Channels Worldwide, Gary Marsh announced in a statement.
Raven-Symoné will executive produce alongside seasoned partners Scott Thomas and Jed Elinof. That’s So Raven aired on Disney Channel from 2003-2007, spanning four seasons and producing 100 episodes. Disney Channel still sees one million viewers tuning in at midnight to watch reruns.
Raven’s Home premieres on Disney Channel July 21.
