Two new animated series from Pixar Studios are set to premiere soon on Disney+. According to the official press release, Inside Out spinoff Dream Productions and sports series Win or Lose arrive on the platform beginning in December. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer highlighting both family-friendly shows. View the minute-long trailer below.
Both shows were highlighted at Disney’s D23 presentation in August. Dream Productions is set in the world of the emotional film franchise but focuses on how Riley’s dreams are created in great animated fashion. The four-episode limited series is set for December 11.
Win or Lose captures several characters’ stories, all participating in the same youth softball league. Each episode will examine the game from another character’s perspective as the team prepares for the championship softball game. The eight-episode series arrives at the streamer on February 19, 2025.
“These two series really show Pixar creativity at its finest,” Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter said via the press release. “We’re excited fans won’t have to wait long for more great content from the world of ‘Inside Out.’ ‘Dream Productions’ offers up a treasure trove of jokes and fun as it digs deeper into one of our favorite parts of the first film, the making of Riley’s dreams. And we consider ‘Win or Lose’ a major, first-of-its-kind tentpole series, one that really showcases what I think makes our studio great: bold, imaginative storytelling; laugh-out-loud humor; and characters that we can all relate to.”
Disney+ promises more animation domination to come. As per the D23 event, Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man are on the horizon. The former is a project set years before the current MCU, tracking the origins of the African nation built on the power of the alien stone, vibranium. Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) and Todd Harris (Bullet Train, Black Panther) shared that the four-part series will utilize a unique 3D CGI style. The latter will sport 1960s comic book-esque art and follow Peter Parker in high school. Hudson Thames (The A-List, Malibu Country) voices Peter, and Colman Domingo (Sing, Sing, Euphoria) will appear as his Iron Man-like mentor, Norman Osborn.
Further down the line, the second season of X-Men 97 will follow the mutant teams’ plight after being separated in time. The first season was critically acclaimed, earning an Emmy nomination for Best Animated Program and perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. And the previously teased third season of What If…? and spinoff Marvel’s Zombies are waiting in the wings.
