Disney+ and Marvel Series ‘She-Hulk’ To Cast ‘Hamilton’ Star Renée Elise Goldsberry

The new She-Hulk series at Disney+ is set to cast Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), according to sources confirmed by Variety. Goldsberry will join previously announced cast members Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers) and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs).

She-Hulk is a half-hour legal comedy that follows the titular superhero and lawyer Jennifer Walters (Maslany), who is the cousin of Bruce Banner (Ruffalo). After receiving a blood transfusion from Banner, Walters acquires his Hulk powers, according to Variety. Roth will reprise his role of The Abomination, returning to the MCU for the first time since The Incredible Hulk in 2008, but Goldsberry’s role is still being kept under wraps.

Goldsberry’s screen credits include the filmed version of Hamilton, Altered Carbon, The Good Wife and One Life to Live. She won a Tony Award in 2016 for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton on Broadway.

Kat Coiro (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia) has been tapped as the director and executive producer on She-Hulk, according to Variety. Coiro will team with showrunner and executive producer Jessica Gao (Silicon Valley).

Following the recent releases of WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, She-Hulk is yet another example of Disney+’s efforts to create limited series from the MCU. The Loki series is set to premiere in June and Moon Knight is expected to begin production soon.

Reps for Marvel and Goldsberry declined to comment on the Goldsberry casting, according to Variety.
