A major deal has been established between Disney and Snowball Studios in Israel.
The new team will be creating a new Israeli animated television show. Further details of the TV show have yet to be released.
According to Variety, the studios and the city of Jerusalem have been working directly with one another to recruit new animators. They are hoping that in the future, Israel’s capital will become the heart of international film and TV production.
The animation projects net gain is estimated to be around $5 million over the next two years. The Jerusalem Film Fund made these estimations. It is rumored that Snowball Studios will open a new Jerusalem studio dedicated specifically to the new projects in animation. The Jerusalem Film Fund will offer a 25% rebate on Israeli expenses in the exchange of working in Jerusalem to each of the studios involved in the project.
The deal made between Disney and Snowball Studios will hopefully establish new animation markets worldwide.
