Disney+ And Hulu Release First Look Trailer For Second Season Of ‘Goosebumps: The Vanishing’

During this year’s edition of New York Comic Con, on Sunday, Hulu and Disney+ released first-look trailer for the new season of Goosebumps: The Vanishing, Comicbook.com reports.

“I want you to have a really fun and also safe summer out here. I only have one rule: stay out of the basement,” the main lead of this season, David Schwimmer’s (Friends, Tangled) character Anthony, explains to the kids in the trailer embedded below via Comicbook.com. The children ask him why, and a clip of Anthony with a vine plant wrapped around his arm is shown.

According to Comicbook.comGoosebumps: The Vanishing focuses on Anthony’s twin children, Devin Brewer, portrayed by Sam McCarthy (Dead to Me, Condor), and Cece Brewer, portrayed by Jayden Bartels (Side Hustle, Group Chat), as they visit him in his house in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Stony Blyden (Hunter Street, The Standoff) and Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty, Love, Victor) star as the characters of Trey and Jen, respectively.

According to Comicbook.com, the first season of Goosebumps was praised by critics and viewers for the cast’s acting and horror themes, and it appealed to a young adult audience. However, it also received bad reviews because some critics thought that the monsters didn’t resemble the ones from the original novels. Despite that, the second season of the series was greenlit at the beginning of this year at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. According to Disney, the premiere had a total of 4.2 million views worldwide in the three days after the premiere on both Disney+ and Hulu.

If anyone is interested in knowing more information about the eight-episode second season, Comicbook.com has the synopsis available to read: “A threat is stirring, and they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Cece, Devin, and their friends — Alex, CJ, and Frankie— find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.”

According to Comicbook.com, Goosebumps: The Vanishing is produced by Sony Pictures Television. The series was developed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens) and Nicholas Stoller (The Muppets, Storks), alongside showrunners Hilary Winston (The Lego Ninjago Movie, My Name Is Earl) and Letterman. All three are also working as executive producers alongside Neal H. Moritz (S.W.A.T., Fast X), Iole Lucchese (Playing Cupid, Puppy Place), Pavun Shetty (The Boys, Gen V), Conor Welch (Platonic, Incoming), Caitlin Friedman (Clifford The Big Red Dog, The Angel Tree), Erin O’Malley (Curb Your Enthusiasm, New Girl), James Eagan (Ash vs Evil Dead, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow) and Karl Frankenfield (Bros, American Horror Story).

Goosebumps: The Vanishing will be released on Friday, January 10th, 2025, on Disney+ and Hulu.
