According to Comicbook, Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again will have a new team joining the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Dario Scardapane, who is known for The Punisher and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, will be the showrunner for the series. The series will also be adding directors from Moon Knight and Loki into their ranks as Justin Benson (Something in the Dirt) and Aaron Moorhead (Straight Outta Oz) are set to direct the remaming episodes of the first season.
According to Comicbook, production for the series has been paused since July due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike. Although this was the case, Marvel Studios was able to review the existing footage of the series and decided to go with a new creative director. Due to this, the previous head writers Chris Ord (The Brave) and Matt Corman (Deck the Halls) departed from the project.
According to Comicbook, in a recent interview regarding the series Vincent D’Onofrio (Men in Black) said, “I think it’s definitely a new show. It’s not the Netflix show. It’s definitely a new show. I mean, all I can say is that Charlie Cox (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) and I are not bored. We are having a great time. We have a great cast, and I think everybody else is having a great time too. Charlie’s one of my favorite people, and I know that he comes here every day ready to knock it out of the park and you know how I am, I’m totally into this part, so I’m there for the same reason.”
D’Onofrio continued, “We’re really just delivering. It’s a lot of work. Charlie’s amazing because he has to do all the stunts and stuff, so he’s in constant training and learning different things. But the scenes are great. I’m trying to skirt around specifics, but I can only say that it is a different show and it feels like a different show.”
Daredevil: Born Again has yet to have a confirmed release date.
